Luke 13:10-17 The Message Healing on the Sabbath 10-13  He was teaching in one of the meeting places on the Sabbath. There was a woman present, so twisted and bent over with arthritis that she couldn’t even look up. She had been afflicted with this for eighteen years. When Jesus saw her, he called her over. “Woman, you’re free!” He laid hands on her and suddenly she was standing straight and tall, giving glory to God. 14  The meeting-place president, furious because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, said to the congregation, “Six days have been defined as work days. Come on one of the six if you want to be healed, but not on the seventh, the Sabbath.” 15-16  But Jesus shot back, “You frauds! Each Sabbath every one of you regularly unties your cow or donkey from its stall, leads it out for water, and thinks nothing of it. So why isn’t it all right for me to untie this daughter of Abraham and lead her from the stall where Satan has had her tied these eighteen ye...

We have sung this song recently at church, and I love it. I know you will too!  https://youtu.be/1VW1a1JyJ04?si=3-yNPAKkryunJe1h Blessed are the ones who do not bury All the broken pieces of their heart Blessed are the tears of all the weary Pouring like a sky of falling stars Blessed are the wounded ones in mourning Brave enough to show the Lord their scars Blessed are the hurts that are not hidden Open to the healing touch of God The Kingdom is yours, the Kingdom is yours Hold on a little more, this is not the end Hope is in the Lord, keep your eyes on Him And blessed are the ones who walk in kindness Even in the face of great abuse Blessed are the deeds that go unnoticed Serving with unguarded gratitude And blessed are the ones who fight for justice Longing for the coming day of peace Blessed is the soul that thirsts for righteousness Welcoming the last, the lost, the least The Kingdom is yours, the Kingdom is yours Hold on a little more, this is not the end Hope is in the Lord,...

I read this over the weekend and it immediately reminded me of you. 💚 I was told that the vines were choking the trees. After two long days of work, and enough brush to fill the Grand Canyon, I realized that maybe there was something choking me. I liberated the trees who could then breathe and feel themselves fully without the weight of that which bound them. Two weeks later, just about the time my blisters healed, my help was needed pulling up vines in another person’s yard. More digging to do. I was curious to know what it all meant, the synchronicity of these two events. Before going to work in both places, I had to focus on  what  needed to be cleared. In the clearing, I began to see the root of it all.  What’s underneath my striving? What stray vine is wrapped around my heart? I’m looking for answers and a pearl of great price. The young rabbi shares a truth about the value of  things .* At first blush, it sounds like things outside of me. But it’s a call inwar...

Luke 12: 13-21 The Parable of the Rich Fool 13  Someone in the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell my brother to divide the inheritance with me.” 14  Jesus replied, “Man, who appointed me a judge or an arbiter between you?”  15  Then he said to them, “Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.” 16  And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest.  17  He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.’ 18  “Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain.  19  And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry.”’ 20  “But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what y...
