Happy Birthday Eve and Mama Monday #1
As part of your
birthday gift this year, I wanted to start a little blog to post some favorite
quotes each week to share with you. So, each Monday, I'll post a little
something that seems to be speaking your name through the week or that is just
something I wanted to pass along as some encouragement.
These are my journal reflections to share with you from my Lectio reading of Numbers 6 last week. Praying these words over YOU on your birthday and in the year ahead....
💛💛💛💛💛
The Lord bless you
and keep you;
the Lord make his face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
the Lord turn his face toward you
and give you peace
We’ve heard this a million times…
as a benediction or farewell
or perhaps as a bedtime song.
Oh the richness of what is here.
God is telling us that
this is how you bless others.
Like God taught us how to pray
with the Lord’s Prayer,
God teaches us how to bless
with these words.
Behold the one
beholding you and smiling…
Looking at God’s gaze of love
is almost too much to take in.
We don’t believe it
and quite frankly, it seems
too good to be true
that God would turn His face
towards us
and not only look at us
but look at us full in the face…
Soak this in.
We are seen
and known
and we are
surrounded by his love.
To be kept by the Lord
is blessing indeed.
Some are kept by their own brokenness,
some are kept by greed,
and others are kept by their own bitterness and anger. [1]
But to be kept by the Lord insures
wellness and wholeness.
So, may we tune into this blessing today.
Lord, we bid you welcome today
through the people we see and
the places we go.
Show us your face through this day.
And when we miss seeing you in those encounters,
remind us that you always see us
even when we don’t see you. [2]
Bless us, O God,
and fill us up so we spill over to be
Your blessing to others.
