Lord Jesus,
Living Christ;
You are the
doctor who gathers up the wounded,
You are
husband, father, and brother. You are the Good Shepherd.
You are the
friend of women and children and the refuge of fools and sinners.
You are the
servant of servants. You are the first and last.
You are the
master to whom all things are possible and in whom there is no longer anything
to fear.
You are a
little child, yet also the eternal Word in whom all things dwell.
You are Mary’s
mystery and Joseph’s dream. You are my all in all.
You are the
balm of broken hearts and the master of the house.
You are the
speaker and the listener.
You are midwife
to all souls and tender mother to all broken hearts.
You are the one
with the Father and you are King David’s heir.
Your love is
beyond measurement and your being is divine.
You are the
suffering one who understands our human loneliness, brokenness, and betrayals.
You are the
weeping one who agonizes in prayer, alone. You are one and you are the many.
You are the
resurrection and the life.
You are bread
and wine. You are sacrament and you are divine.
You are
water-walker and wind-calmer. You are soul-doctor and Spirit-breather.
You release
captives and command demons.
You are the
lord of angels and ruler of the cosmos.
You are flesh
and blood, but also Spirit and truth.
You are faith, hope, and love. You are
tears, sweat, and blood.
You are time
and no-time. You are space and beyond space.
You are
infinity and particle. You are consciousness and beyond. You are matter and
energy.
You are no
longer on the cross. You are ascended to higher realms.
You are priest
for the nations and prophet for human transformation.
You are. You
have been. You shall be.
You are this
and so much more, and in you I shall live.
Amen.
